Michael B. Kvorjak werd geboren in Youngstown, Ohio, waar hij opgroeide in een gemeenschap die sterk verbonden was met familie en traditie. Als jonge man koos hij voor de luchtmacht en trad toe tot de United States Army Air Forces. Hij werd opgeleid tot co‑piloot en diende in de 392nd Bomber Group, 579th Bomber Squadron. Zijn talent en toewijding brachten hem tot de rang van Second Lieutenant, een positie die getuigde van zijn moed en verantwoordelijkheid.
Op 4 oktober 1943 vloog hij als co‑piloot op de B‑24H Liberator #42‑7481, met de bijnaam “Whiskers” of “The Drip.” Tijdens een missie boven de Friese eilanden in Nederland werd het toestel aangevallen door een Duitse jager en stortte neer in de Noordzee. Het vliegtuig werd gezien terwijl het neerstortte met minstens één vleugel afgebroken. De volledige bemanning, waaronder Kvorjak, werd als Missing in Action geregistreerd.
Zijn naam staat gegraveerd op de Tablets of the Missing in de Cambridge American Cemetery in Engeland. Voor zijn inzet en moed ontving hij de Air Medal en de Purple Heart.
